I've heard minimum level 45-50 for the additional content, though whether you are locked out at earlier levels remains to be seen. Wouldn't have thought so...
I finally managed to breach the shrinkwrap of my copy, it's installing now. Does it make any difference to the pawn business if you're friends with people on Live? Not sure I've got everyone on here on Live.

Just put a couple of hours in to this and I have to say after some initial reservations in the first village, I've come to really like it. Getting to grips with the pawn system is fun as well as the training. Nice idea. I will keep playing this...
Seven hours in and I'm loving it. Just chopped the head off the Hydra. I'm a bit bewildered by all the item pick ups and how to use them and getting to grips with the flaky combat is taking some time but other than that it's great. It's got a really nice atmosphere. I have come up against a huge difficulty spike though, on my way to a forest to find someone and came across some bandits who pushed a big boulder down then proceeded to wipe the whole team out three times in a row! Is this normal or should I not be venturing up there yet?
This has finally arrived for me. On to the pile o' shame for now though... sounds like it'll need a proper look in not 5 minutes in between Lara's hair.
Is the framerate still bad in this new version? I liked what I played of the origional demo but it really
chugged along in that first town, put me right off (PsTriple).
This new Dark Arisen content is seriously good! And fuckin' nails (at least on Hard Mode at Level 60-ish). It has a Demon's/Dark Souls feel to it - like you're descending deeper and deeper into something nightmarish. Love it!
Best £15 you can spend. And considering that's what i got trade in for the original; means this is free.
The Dark Arisen content is tough as old boots but I'm pressing on. Changed my class from Magic Archer - I've been using ranged attack for 86 hours, so thought it was time for a change - and have gone for a sword and shield-wearing fighter. I'm only lvl 55 but since I've completed the game once before, the whole map is open and I'm coining in XP. My pawn - Tiluvien - has turned into something of a fire-wielding she-devil. Amazing.
If you've chosen a Fighter, be sure to unlock the 'Dragon's Maw' ability ASAP.
That, coupled with a drink of Liquid Vim for infinite stamina, means you can rinse the move repeatedly and the animation keeps you invulnerable from being attacked/interrupted. Works wonders on bosses for big ass damage.
What a superb game, had the original but It sat on the shelf for an age and then I traded 3 weeks ago and bought this. Currently level 10 and went over the water to the arisen bit.... That was a mistake, even with a number of useful for unite pawns. Got chewed to death by the first beastie dog things and have now headed back to cardiss. Won't move on until I have finished all my side quests. Love it.
Yuria is a permanent member of my travelling troupe. Tiluvien and my character are lvl 55 - plan on running a few more quests on NG+ before diving back into Dark Arisen.
Do you have to disband, then re-hire to keep up with someone's Pawn level?
I'm not sure what Bitterblack Isle is like on standard, but Hard Mode is fucking me up the deeper i get. I'm getting a ridiculous amount of XP though, like its not worth me doing Cassardis quests.
You have to release then rehire pawns to keep up with their level. I've only managed to get to the huge eye in Bitterblack. Been there twice and my party has wiped, leaving me alone to solo that bugger - an impossible task.
