LivDiv wrote:@davy For sure. This is where the "right click, save" argument is flawed. That is effectively piracy as much as downloading a torrent of a movie. I dont really want to go off tangent into a morals argument there but legally there is little difference its just Universal, Sony, Disney etc can't make billions out of that image. None of this is an argument for NFT or blockchain or the absolute state of the scene that has emerged.

LivDiv wrote:So really they are just accepting Bitcoin (and possibly similar) as collateral. You still have to have the value of the property in crypto upfront. Then you get it back once the mortgage plus interest is paid. I imagine the fine print will probably work out pretty shit, some crazy APR to offset the crypto crashing risk. If I had enough money in crypto to buy a house I would cash it in, pay the tax and put a 80-90% deposit on a house. Or get two houses or a much better house with a 40-50% deposit. Then I would be invested in the property market which over 30 years would be a considerably safer investment than crypto.

Like that seems to be what people expect, and be possible, so why does it never happen?

Because is that any better or more secure than an actual contract that we use now to own and transfer copyright?
