especially as it didn't devolve into the typical fight stuff that all the other Marvel things have done. Yes it has a fight but it had real emotional weight in it for me. Had they announced a season 2 before this ep because I definitely thought it would end there and so the stakes were high for me.

It's gotten me very excited to see all the movies coming up too. Multiversal war is a good set up for a big end of Phase 4 movie event and, hopefully, will result in some truly weird shit on screen. More alligator Loki type stuff please.

There's clearly a lot of baton passing going on in the MCU now, so taking into account the mission Kid Sis is given in the post credits scene of BW, and the fact that Hawkeye The Noo has his own streaming series coming up, do we think that they're going to use that to either retire or kill him off in that one, so they can introduce his daughter to take up the mantle going forward?

Yeah it's bringing the daughter in to be the new Hawkeye and Pugh will try and kill them but there's going to be another big bad and Renner will retire / die and the new Black Widow and the new Hawkeye will be super best friends at the end of it. 
The new Hawkeye program and the Ms Marvel one are probably going to be aimed at teenage girls so will be interesting what a load of sad old men like us make of it. 

The overall series was patchy. A lot of exposition early on but that was entertaining enough. Then I thought it fell into very formulaic tv sci fi for a while (the Dr Who episode I'm thinking of here really but I didn't really like the cloud monster episode either). But I liked that finale. Season spanning cliffhangers can pretty much get in the bin but the multiverse plot is probably going to take them years to resolve and will be spread across multiple films and tv series. Will be interesting how they resolve some it going into the films. They don't have any big ensemble films in the pipeline where they all come together. So they'll probably do a Civil War thing where there's a main character but loads of them get mixed into it. Probably going to be a clusterfuck. 
The comics have these big events and they were always a mix of meaningless spin-offs and lead-ins that you don't need to have read to follow the main story. But there was also a load of really important stuff that kept coming up that you didn't know about because it happened 6 months previously in a book you don't care about. Are you going to need to know about what happened in episode 6 of season 1 of Loki to understand the set up for the next Spider-man? Probably not but then they would quite like you to subscribe to Disney+.
