have you unlocked the power of the great rune? You need to do that after the defeat, and it's kinda in the castle, you get pointed in the direction by the help text or something which says where you need to go to do it...

Explore to the West of the area you’re in IMO. Get some e levels in Vigor.

From the area defended by soldiers and flamethrowers you head down the main castle path that they’re defending, watch out for ballistas. The entrance to the bridge is on the left. Feel free to sneak past the horrid enemy there.

Seems I've went this way first, to be greeted by a locked door.
Still i did at least get a 'tutorial tip' saying i need a wand to do magic...only took until level 30 with 4 spells already in possession and wondering why they don't work

Still no sign of said wands.
Did get to the boss i think but got killed and stopped at that point

110 hours in and the game keeps on giving! But its still a cunt with the ATK output of even minor enemies in late-game.

The overword map is fully exposed in all its glory. Underworld...dunno...

I keep uploading to the cloud, re-specing and trying different builds for free. If it doesn't stick, reset.

About 50 hours here, didn't like it very much at first but then managed to get to

found a load of Faith gear (why is it always magic? For literally 20 hours), and farmed for a weapon which is perfect for me

Had a nice session last time where I spent about 3 hours tracking down an item I wanted to make the boss of the aforementioned area easier. When I eventually returned I didn't even need the item because I'd levelled up the Godlike Soldier Ashes from zero to +8 in the interim lol get ganked.
Not too fussed about going 1v1 against the super-aggro bosses, I've done enough of that. Really glad to see that there are plenty which do something a bit different.

I'm still waiting for a good Faith tool before I spend any stones smithing up. Sooo many staffs and shit so far, though.

I have stuff requiring 40-60 Faith. Keep going and stuff will appear.

The wife wanted a cup of tea. It’s okay I thought, I shall just travel to Roundtable as it is safe and make it. As I walked out of the room, she mentioned something to me (probably something important but I wasn’t listening really) which made me glance back…low and behold I was in Roundtable and being attacked by an npc invader! What the hell?! I leapt across the kids toys, grabbed my pad and just survived the battle!

Bubble Shower until they fall over. It's super effective, especially on big boys.

Ah, a boss with massive Holy defence. Deploy backup halberd!

Done. Incredible game, just wish I hadn't played a billion hours of Souls beforehand. I really envy the new players.

Only just got back to this for a bit tonight after stopping a while back. Eventually found me bearings and met Godfrey. After beating him with a wonderful fluke - I died with him on a sliver and my ash summon killed him before the fade out - I decided to go off and have a quick look at this Radahn fellow that everyone's bean talking about. Bit of a farce really but I took him down second try.

Not sure what's next, but I'm going to have to play other things again anyway. I'll probably finish this around Christmas.
