Cheers guys. Need to wait and see what the terms and conditions of the new role are. Boss has said he'll do everything to keep us all in our jobs, with the unfortunate exception of one of our managers who isn't really a manager, she's a supervisor on secondment. My best guess is they're gonna try and ratify our salaries. Of the current ops managers, wages range from just under 20k to just over 30k. Some newer managers could be better off, longer served ones will have to take a drop, I'm already bang in the middle so it might not be much difference to me.
In other news, being hounded to interview for a job managing student accommodation in Glasgow. Slight drop in money, but it's apparently only for 6-10 months until they finish building a new site, which would then be mine, along with a bump in salary. Waiting on a bit more information about it first.
Ahem. Today I done my first ever "holy fuck I'm actually the manager today and I'm on my own from start to finish" shift in cee eee exx. Was bricking it beforehand but I kept it simple. Opened, took money, gave money, smashed the target, and closed up. Props from my boss in an email already saying we were third in the UK today so aye I'm feeling rather chuffed with myself just now.
Got more responsibility in weeks than what took me years in HMV to even get a whiff of. Aye. Happy with that today.
Talking of CEX, ours opened half an hour late because of a stocktake. Till guy said it was mandatory thing dropped on them last minute by some suit called Alf Gaviscon.
