  • I loved that you could unlock the portraits for other bonds in GE using an action replay. Don't think you could actually play as them though.

    I hope I haven't imagined that.

I've given up on Retro Gamer magazine. It was too patchy.

Sounds right. I did read that previous Bonds were originally included, but later removed. Art assets were left hidden in the code.

Patchy is the perfect word for the GE article. Nothing was given time to breathe before moving on to the next subject.

I still subscribe and read each issue cover to cover. Usually things are much better than the GE article.

  • I've been meaning to give up for a while, but never get round to cancelling.  Would be the end of buying magazines for me, maybe that's what's keeping me on.  I've had one or more mags on the go each month since the early 90s.

It doesn't help that I usually read it at work before my copy arrives, so I'm just wasting money and acquiring more junk.

Aye. I hit the reset button for magazines last year. Had T3, Which and Retro Gamer magazine subs - cancelled them all as I wasn't getting the value out of them.

Which is a great magazine if you are spending money - I was a few years ago post house extension - but I should have cancelled my sub a year earlier than I did. Subbers also get access to great online content too. Worth a month or two if you are in the market for anything.

  • Nice. Over 50 games should mean all the best stuff on there, and would be good to have the convenience of having them all on the PS4. A decent price and I'm definitely interested.

Went to my bank today, not realizing it opens at 10, not 9, on Wednesdays. Luckily CEX was open and had four titles to add to my Dreamcast collection. Win/lose. (For the interested: TrickStyle, F1 World Grand Prix, Dave Mirra BMX, and Racing Simulation: Monaco GP.)

  • I was looking forward to Trickstyle.  Turned out to be a load of old guff in the end, despite the 8's and 9's.

Dave Mirra though... Stone cold classic. What a purchase.

I always assumed it did well because it was an early release.

  • Not an EA title in sight.

Actually, are they all first/second party?

    Comes out on my birthday.
  • A couple of EA games would've been nice, but didn't really expect them.

I'm more disappointed with the lack of shoot 'em ups, as it's a good console for those, and Konami games.

At least the Treasure stuff is there. And the Shining Forces, Shinobis and Streets of Rages are always welcome.

Just realised that those four DC games puts me at 50 titles in my collection. It's a mile stone, of sorts. Should I expect a letter from the Queen or something?

  • No Sonic3/Knuckles????? LOL
    オレノナハ エラー ダ
  • If they'd done a NES Remix type thing I'd be all over it, but it's the same stuff again, it's missing some fairly obvious titles and I've got it all on the Pi anyway.  Or the Xbox, according to a post in that thread recently.  Nice trailer though.
  • That collections worse than the PS3/360 ones iirc.

  • Landstalker is a nice addition as it’s quite pricey these days.

  • So in terms of the two gens Mega Drive collections:

The following are exclusive to the PS4/XOne:
    Alien Soldier
    Bio-Hazard Battle
    Columns III: Revenge of Columns
    Crack Down
    Galaxy Force II
    Gunstar Heroes
    Landstalker
    Light Crusader
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
    Space Harrier II
    Sword of Vermilion
    The Revenge of Shinobi
ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron
    ToeJam& Earl
    Virtua Fighter 2
    Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair
    Wonder Boy in Monster World

The following exclusive to the PS3/360:
    Ecco the Dolphin
    Ecco: The Tides of Time
    Sonic the Hedgehog 3
    Sonic & Knuckles

There's must haves on both lists but Sonic 3/Knuckles??? Thats a pretty fucking big omission for a Mega Drive collection.

  • Eteranl Champions not making the cut for either release is an odd one.  Poor Eric.
  • Sword of Vermillion was a good buy for me in 1992/93, my first RPG.  Nice mix of realtime top-down battles and occasional side on bits, along with the maze thing.  Would be absolutely terrible for a first time play now, but it definitely had its charms.  The music was good too.
