I think it looks good but like too many other series this gen they've fucking milked it dry so there's not much to get hype about. See also Halo, Mass Effect (yes I went there) Assassins Creed (and I like them too) and Uncharted (the 2-3 gap was nothing like the 1-2 one)
It will get a slating for not being different enough from City I imagine. Doesn't bother me too much, I love playing through these and was never fussed by Combat arena stuff so haven't got bored of the combat like some others.
I never did the combat arena stuff. I liked finding the little Easter eggs. I thought there was a bit of overkill in city's collect me all, but love me some riddler puzzles
Yeah there was a lot but I try not to complain too much of having lot's of content even if it can be a bit repetitive.
The Riddler rooms were my favourite part of City.
The mad hatter, azazel and bane canisters I really liked because they kind of happened as you played. The azazel stuff scared the shit out of me the first time because I didn't know it was in it and then BOOM creepy guy wtf fall off chair
Nearly just listed all the other stuff, oops, so much goodness.
I liked MAd Hatter but it felt like a bit of an attempt to shoehorn in some Scarecrow like section to keep fans happy.
Clayface was a nice surprise at the end (unless you are smart and saw it coming)
I thought they got the collectables/ side missions just about right in AC. The riddles stuff usually required a little bit of thought or skill to get compared to just finding them and most of the other side missions had similar activities.
Wasn't keen on the political prisoner as there was really nothing to it. Just be in an area when one goes off and take out one bad guy? There wasn't even a time limit on it. You could let the bad guy wail on that prisoner for ages before helping the poor sod out.
If there is one thing which looks a little silly, its that a lot of the Riddler physical objectives from AC are being carried over exactly the same into this (as dark knight challenges). Fine if it was a whole new game engine but that doesnt look to be the case. Still, loved the last too so I cant see this not being at least entertaining.
Regarding the Rocksteady game, there's a lot of stuff carrying over from Arkham City for a proper third sequel. The most obvious is Azrael and Hush but the little hidden stuff about Scarecrows bug-related plans hint that he may be a big bad in any proper follow up. And then there is the Joker situation - not quite ready to believe thats done with.
