I never ever went for Corruption. Someone please explain how or why it is good.
I’m not enjoying Silent much. Most of first Act is a slog. But just beat Act 1 boss and have some sort of shivs setup going on. More shiv damage, and two cards that add shivs. Now need that other card that gives me shivs at start of each turn. Could be good.
Corruption means you can take a load of skills as they're essentially free once it's played. All skills exhaust though, so if you've got dead branch you'll keep getting new cards, and if they're skills you can keep playing them and getting more. It becomes an infinite loop until you run out of skills and start using energy.
I need to check again what it does... exhausts any skills used? Including Defend? In my mind, I thought that would be dangerous, I may run out of defends later in comvat?
It clears your hand and allows you to use all energy on attack. Assuming you are generating some strength and have a 2 energy big hitter (or even bludgeon) it means you can use it plus still block. And those big hitters will come around again quick.
It makes for quick fights.
(and if you have the card that gives block for exhaust or sentinel, or can get off barricade or demon form then it's a massacre.)
Finally beat asc1 with Silent. It's been a tough run of near misses, getting to the last dude only to fall to the one big hit I wasn't prepared for. Was a fun run, good mix of poison and shivs. First time I've managed to make envenom work for me (got it from the whale), the upgrade really helped.
I thought I was in for a decent run with the Silent on asc3, but then chose the wrong path by accident (I blame the pro d pad, I pressed left but it didn't switch), ending up in a ? room that was useless as it required gold and I just had a shop. Still managed to get to hexaghost, thought I could do it with 23hp but just couldn't do enough damage and he was building up a lot of strength.
I also thought I had a decent run with the Ironclad last night at asc3, had around 120 max hp and the red skull, which seemed pretty ace as 60 hp for the skull to activate sounds decent. I can't even remember how I managed to screw that up.
The gist: dead branch after ditching gold for rare relic. Nabbed exhaust cards ahoy and didn't add much else. Got some good complimentary relics and it was pretty well obvious it was probably gonna be a win when act 2 boss didn't even get to his wie debuffs move.
I’m onto ascension 7 with all characters. Just finished a really enjoyable silent run with a small deck, 2 grand finales, well laid plans, lots of card draw and the card that does double damage your next turn. There really aren’t enough hours in the day to play this
