It's Star Wars, it doesn't have to make sense.
I’d say it’s necessary for the characters to make sense even if the mechanics around them don’t.
Force healing is okay because we know Rey is nice and if she had a doctors kit she might also heal the snake.
Luke Skywalkers dad being a dickhead only makes sense and is interesting if Luke Skywalker is definitely not some nihilist punk but is shown to want to be good.

Do we though? Isn't the struggle between light and dark a major part of her character? Force lightning is a bonafide dark side power and she's got a knack for that too.

If you don’t watch the three films and don’t think Rey at least is trying to be good then I think you should stop trying to discuss the films.
Of course she does have lightning coming out of her finger but do you think she actually wants to kill Chewbacca in this moment. Jesus.

It had to be, it had two movies worth of a trilogy to fill.bad_hair_day wrote:All the recent trilogy have poor stories, at least TFA has the proper tone and pace. Rise was an overstuffed turkey in every sense.
Paul the sparky wrote:It would have been interesting to see her kill Palps, turn fully to the dark side and then off Kylo as he senses the change and tries to stop her. Setting her up as the big bad in the next films. As it stands, she's almost unstoppable. Fuck knows what they're going to conjure up to be a match for her next time.

Thats what i wanted. Empresses Rey.
My guess is the next one will be set many years later and starts when some twins dig up the lightsabres she buried, causing their force to awaken.g.man wrote:Assuming the next films even follow on chronologically from this trilogy, I would strongly suspect that Rey will be written out Luke Skywalker stylee.
