There's usually quite a lot of stuff in the tutorials, so maybe this one assumes a bit more than before. The critical/luck thing is something I only noticed after many hours.b0r1s wrote:Probably my lack of experience tbf JonB and while tutorial is ok, the manual is lacking in detail. For example, I had to figure out the weapon compatibility stuff myself, but again that's more my lack of knowledge with this type of game as I'm guessing people would understand the grading system. I'd left Vaike out on his own and he got mugged, so part bad luck, part bad positioning

Stick at it Matty, it helps you to get better
The Pegasus lady is best paired up or next to someone tbf. I've started to pair her up with Chrom.
Also took me a while to figure out the balance of weapons, pairing up etc, which makes a big difference.
Having said that I am doing most battles at least twice.

I've paired the archer with Sully, more for the conversations post battle
I've paired the flying lady with Chrom, to make her last longer.
I think supporting and pairing is pretty vital to get through, but guessing the specifics of it will depend on your style of play. Before you pair just see what boosts the paring provides and how it will help the main character you are pairing to.
