Yeah it really is quite good.
I like how they have taken the concept of the Souls rest/respawn risk/reward system but not necessarily the brutality of it.
Recently just had our first baby (little fella arrived 2 months early so it's been hospital bound every day. He (Harrison) and the missus are doing very well though) and last night I popped to Gamestop to treat myself. Picked up SW: JFO and so far (only played around 2 hours) I like it. Playing on the top difficulty to try an emulate a souls-like experience. Get the feeling I may need to drop that down a notch though.
The opening of the game was spectacular, especially with headphones and Dolby Atmos. Really impressed. Respawn are a top bunch.
Hoping to get another hour on it later tonight, fingers crossed!
Fallen Order just gets better. It really is Uncharted Metroid Raider. Some some fun puzzles in there, good enemy variety and it can get quite tough on the harder difficulty. Loads to explore and go back to, I've spent ages just going back and finding secrets.
Got another spin off this (Star Wars) last night. Had to drop the difficulty from Grandmaster as I went straight to 'the hard planet' after the opening of the game without knowing it was 'the hard planet' - after that I went to 'the other planet' and am find that much more doable at my current power level.
Very much so enjoying the level design. Although I'd expect no less from the guys that gave us some of the best in the industry with Titanfall 2.
I've had 2 days off work and blitzed 4 bosses in Bloodborne. Can't believe how I was playing this before I gave up on it. I was treating it like a survival horror Souls game and being far too cautious and it just made the game into a frustrating slog.
Enjoying Skulls of the Shogun on Switch. It often takes me a while to warm to turn based strategy games, but when they grab me there are few genres with as much clout. The battle system is definitely more my thing than Banner Saga, or even the mostly enjoyable Mutant Year Zero.
Worth a look on whichever platform you fancy, but it's ace as a handheld title (£7.99 in a recent sale, the 50% discount seems to come around fairly regularly). Was also on PS+ a while back.
