Hmmm, I don't quite agree. The SNES was the clear winner, whereas I would struggle to pick the overall best console in later generations. The current gen is the most evenly balanced, I would say.

The MD Cpu was much faster than the Snes one, so it was better suited to schmups and intense action games, where the Snes would be more prone to bouts of slowdown and flickering.
